Wrist Pain
Wrist pain can make everyday activities such as typing, lifting, gripping or exercising uncomfortable. Whether your pain has developed gradually or started following an injury, it’s important to identify the underlying cause rather than simply treating the symptoms.
At Elite Performance Therapy, every appointment begins with a thorough assessment to understand the cause of your wrist pain before recommending the most appropriate treatment. Our aim is to reduce pain, improve movement and help you return to your normal activities as quickly and safely as possible.
What Causes Wrist Pain?
Wrist pain can have many different causes. It may develop following an injury, repetitive movements, overuse or changes in activity levels. Common causes include tendon irritation, ligament sprains, carpal tunnel syndrome, joint stiffness and muscle tension.
A thorough assessment helps identify the likely cause of your symptoms so treatment can be tailored to your individual needs rather than simply focusing on the area where you feel pain.
How We Can Help
At Elite Performance Therapy, every treatment begins with a thorough assessment to understand what’s causing your wrist pain.
Treatment may include sports massage, remedial therapy, soft tissue techniques, stretching, mobility work and a personalised rehabilitation programme designed specifically for you. Where appropriate, medical acupuncture (dry needling) may also be used to help reduce muscle tension and relieve pain.
Our goal isn’t simply to ease your symptoms. We want to improve the way your wrist moves, reduce the likelihood of your pain returning and help you get back to doing the things you enjoy.
Keeping Your Wrists Healthy
Small changes often make a big difference. Improving strength, flexibility and movement patterns, alongside reducing repetitive strain and maintaining good upper limb mobility, can all help reduce the risk of wrist pain returning.
Understanding the cause of your symptoms is just as important as treating them, which is why we always combine hands-on treatment with practical advice and rehabilitation where appropriate.
We’ll also give you simple exercises and advice that you can continue at home, along with recommendations for ongoing treatment if needed to help keep your wrists strong and moving comfortably.
Don’t Let Wrist Pain Hold You Back

What our clients say:
I went to see Isy after a friend recommended her. I had a bad shoulder for months and the doctors told me it was tendinitis and to just do some easy exercises and to take it easy. The pain did not shift until I went to see Isy!
Ben Eccles
She did an examination and established it was not tendinitis it was something to do with my rotator cuff. (she did tell me exactly what it was but I can’t remember) long story short, after only 2 sessions with Isy my shoulder pain went completely and I was able to go back to the gym and have no sharp shooting pains at all!!
100% recommend going to see Isy if you have anything that is bothering you like my shoulder was me.
