Headache Treatment
Headaches can have a significant impact on everyday life, making it difficult to work, concentrate, exercise or simply relax. While headaches can have many different causes, muscle tension and problems affecting the neck and upper back are common contributors.
At Elite Performance Therapy, every appointment begins with a thorough assessment to understand the cause of your symptoms before recommending the most appropriate treatment. Our aim is to reduce pain, improve movement and help you return to your normal activities as quickly and safely as possible.
What Causes Headaches?
Headaches can develop for many different reasons, including muscle tension, poor posture, prolonged desk work, stress, jaw tension and neck stiffness. Tension headaches are among the most common, but headaches may also be associated with reduced neck mobility or other musculoskeletal problems.
A thorough assessment helps identify the likely cause of your symptoms so treatment can be tailored to your individual needs rather than simply focusing on relieving the pain.
How We Can Help
At Elite Performance Therapy, every treatment begins with a thorough assessment to understand what’s causing your headaches.
Treatment may include sports massage, remedial therapy, soft tissue techniques, stretching, mobility work and a personalised rehabilitation programme designed specifically for you. Where appropriate, medical acupuncture (dry needling) may also be used to help reduce muscle tension and improve movement.
Our goal isn’t simply to ease your symptoms. We want to identify and address the underlying cause of your headaches, reduce the likelihood of them returning and help you feel more comfortable in your day-to-day life.
Helping to Prevent Headaches
Small changes often make a big difference. Improving posture, taking regular movement breaks, managing stress and maintaining good neck and shoulder mobility can all help reduce the frequency of tension-related headaches.
Understanding the cause of your symptoms is just as important as treating them, which is why we always combine hands-on treatment with practical advice and rehabilitation where appropriate.
We’ll also give you simple exercises and advice that you can continue at home, along with recommendations for ongoing treatment if needed to help reduce the likelihood of your headaches returning.
Don’t Let Headaches Hold You Back
If headaches are affecting your work, sport or everyday life, we’re here to help. Early assessment and treatment can often prevent a small problem from becoming a long-term issue.
If you’re struggling with headaches, we’d be happy to help. Book your appointment online and we’ll carry out a thorough assessment before creating a treatment plan tailored to your needs.

What our clients say:
I visited Isy at Elite Performance Therapy initially for my neck after a fall and banging my head with some force. I did not seek help until many weeks later and was suffering with a very bad neck and constant headache. Isy worked on this and within a couple of days my headaches had gone. I continued therapy for many weeks for my back and ankle. She worked wonders on my body. My husband also used Isy for a shoulder injury which she cured. I would fully recommend Isy. She is very professional and puts you totally at ease.
